Introducing my favorite music through curated playlists.

I live for music. That said, I don’t buy as many physical copies—CDs or vinyl—as I used to. Back in the day, I bought plenty. That was just the era we lived in. Every week, I’d find myself at major record stores or local shops, spending hours at the listening stations before finally picking something to take home.

It was during my formative teenage years that I discovered Shibuya-kei, Hip Hop, Reggae, Soul, and House. Ever since then, I’ve been on a never-ending hunt for “favorite music I haven’t met yet.” While I love fashion, art, movies, manga, and novels, at the end of the day, music is what speaks to me most.

Streaming Services: The Ultimate “Listening Station”

As a “middle listener”—not quite a die-hard audiophile, but certainly more than a casual fan—streaming services are a dream come true.
They allow me to discover new artists or reunite with nostalgic tracks I’d long forgotten.
To me, these platforms are like a giant, infinite listening station that I get to enjoy every single day.
The more I “like” a track, the better the recommendations get. My collection of favorite songs, both new and old, just keeps growing.
I often wonder: if I’d had a service like this back when I was young and had all the time in the world, what would have happened to me?

Playlists as Modern-Day Mixtapes

Back then, we used to spend hours making “personal compilations” on cassette tapes, MDs, or CD-Rs. Today, I find that same joy in creating playlists on streaming platforms. Mixing new releases with old classics, Western music with Japanese hits, vocals with instrumentals—I ignore genres and just go with the flow of “what I want to hear next.” These playlists are like flowers blooming in my daily life; they add color to my routine.

I originally made these for myself, but I’m confident that people from my generation will enjoy them too! With that in mind, I’ll be sharing my playlists and introducing my favorite tracks on this blog. Of course, if people from other generations enjoy them as well, nothing would make me happier.

You don’t need to listen to them intensely. They’re designed to be perfect background music—like a radio show or a compilation CD—while you work or do chores. I hope the playlists on this site become your gateway to discovering your next favorite song.

Playlist Features:

・15 tracks per set
・Versatile vibes for any situation
・Minimal commentary, maximal music

The site name, “Give Me Little More™,” comes from a classic track by one of my favorite rocksteady bands, Carlton & the Shoes. I’ll talk more about that song another time, but there’s something so charming about the nuance of “just a little more.” I want to run this site with that same laid-back, “Rocksteady” kind of mood.
